I’m Edie Appleton, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, therapist, and educator who has had the privilege of working with children, teens, adults, and families across a variety of therapeutic settings. My clinical toolbox includes play therapy, EMDR, CBT, CBT-ERP, expressive arts, sandtray, and family work, with much of my experience centered around anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, neurodiversity, grief, and the beautifully complicated business of being human.

I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Saint Leo University and my Master of Social Work from Union University, but some of my most valuable lessons have come from the therapy room itself—from the clients, families, colleagues, and experiences that have continued to shape the clinician and teacher I am today.
​
Unicorn Play Academy is where I get to share those lessons with you. I believe professional learning can be practical and meaningful without being stuffy. Around here, we take the work seriously—but we can still stay curious, get creative, and leave a little room for play.
